Palm Beach Gardens has earned the designation of Tree City USA for more than 30 years. This award recognizes communities that actively promote the Tree City USA® Program, sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.
The Tree City USA® Program provides direction, technical assistance, public attention, and national recognition for urban and community forestry programs in thousands of towns and cities that more than 120 million people call home. The City of Palm Beach Gardens has a long history of promoting, preserving, and increasing the number of trees that provide many public benefits, clearly distinguishing the city from other communities. The many benefits of being a Tree City include creating framework for action, education, a positive public image, and citizen pride. The City has received the Tree City designation for the past 27 consecutive years.
Growth Award
In January 2012, the city received the Arbor Day Foundation 2011 Tree City USA Growth Award. This was the 4th year for the City to receive the Growth Award. The Growth Award recognizes communities that are improving current programs or creating new programs that encourage higher level of tree care.
